WATCH (00:35) - 🧨 No Fireworks Permitted in Placer County

BG_Fire-Safety-Message_2023

Dear Friends and Neighbors -

Independence Day is here and if you live in the unincorporated part of Placer County please remember that NO fireworks are permitted in that area, even "safe and sane."

Also, if you plan to visit Lake Tahoe this weekend for the holiday, please remember that all Tahoe communities in Placer County are in the unincorporated area.

We, as residents, need to do everything we can to reduce the risk for wildfire. This includes refraining from using fireworks in high fire-danger areas like Tahoe and where the urban areas meet wild land areas.

I encourage you to also watch my conversation with Placer County Chief Estes to get educated about what to do to prepare your home and family in case a wildfire breaks out near our community:

In summary, get educated at ReadyPlacer.org and be alerted by signing up at Placer-Alert.org. All of us taking these proactive steps will be key in helping our first responders in times of emergency.

Dec-of-Inde

I hope you have a wonderful Independence Day! July 4th is an annual reminder of the courage exemplified by those that came before us to establish and defend the freedoms we now hold dear. While we may struggle to achieve the goals set out by the Declaration of Independence, it stands as a resolute guide for how we can achieve liberty and justice for all.

Sincerely,
Bonnie

K9 Sonic

Happy 6th Birthday to K-9 Sonic!

Join PCSO in celebrating this amazing Belgian Malinois born in Holland in 2017. Sonic started his impressive career with the Placer County Sheriff's Office at just 18 months old. He's certified for patrol and gun/ammunition detection, and he excels in long-range tracking.

In 2022, Sonic found a new forever home with Deputy Hoffman, becoming his trusted partner after Lt. Scofield's promotion. Their bond is unbreakable, and together they continue to make a difference in our community.
We wish Sonic a fantastic day filled with treats, belly rubs, and endless adventures!
