Greetings,

As I mentioned in last month’s newsletter, long time Placer County Planning Director, E.J. Ivaldi retired last December.

I am pleased to introduce Placer County’s newly appointed Planning Director, Chris Pahule.

Chris has more than 23 years’ experience in the planning and community development field. Prior to coming to Placer County, he served as a Principal Planner with Sacramento County beginning in 2014 where he led a team of planners and designers in processing discretionary entitlement packages, design and landscape reviews. While at Sacramento County, he also worked on quality-of-life initiatives, affordable housing developments and code enforcement programs.

Before the dissolution of Redevelopment Agencies Chris held various positions at the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, where he oversaw investments in Disadvantaged Communities.

I believe that Mr. Pahule’s background has well prepared him to take on the challenges that Placer County will be experiencing during the next several years of growth in Placer County.

Chris and his wife, Bonnie, have two boys that play on their school’s soccer teams. When they are not attending soccer games, they enjoy discovering new restaurants and traveling.

I look forward to working with Chris and his team during the coming years.

Warm Regards,

Supervisor Jim Holmes
