The Board of Supervisors and County staff are working on the development of the 2022-23 budget that guides all operations of the County. A day-long workshop with the full Board of Supervisors was conducted earlier this week with each department presenting their historic and proposed budgets, key accomplishments from this past year, and emerging issues and department priorities. The draft budget of $1,089,926,060 will continue to be developed and adjusted with the final budget being presented in June for adoption.  

Placer County is made special because of the incredible people who choose to live here, especially those in our smaller communities. This was truly evidenced by the countless volunteers who stepped in to assist their neighborhoods and communities during the record-breaking storm last winter. They checked in on neighbors, cleared driveways, prepared and distributed food, called in outside resources, opened-up their homes, and donated time and resources to others. I have been told many stories of the heroes that stepped in to help.

I also want to acknowledge the brave and hard work of the Placer County Sheriff's, CalFire, Placer County Fire Department, Foresthill Fire, Placer Hills Fire, Office of Emergency Services, and Placer County Roads Department each of these performed round the clock work throughout the region to ensure our safety during a record-smashing event.
