SQUAW VALLEY VIRTUAL TOWN HALL MEETINGÂNORTH TAHOE REGIONAL ADVISORY COUNCILWHAT IS A 'MAC'?PURPOSE OF A MUNICIPAL ADVISORY COUNCIL (MAC) | Municipal Advisory Councils are comprised of volunteer community members appointed by the Board of Supervisors to provide input on topics of interest as specified by the Board of Supervisors. A MAC may offer feedback on land use projects, county programs and services and other community issues. A Municipal Advisory Council is not a decision-making body such as the Board of Supervisors or the Planning Commission. MACs do not have authority to make, set, provide interpretation of or enforce county ordinances, policies, or laws. DUTIES OF A MUNICIPAL ADVISORY COUNCIL | Municipal Advisory Council meetings provide one of several forums for gathering input from the community on matters that relate to the area served by the MAC, such as land use, roads, public health and safety concerns, Placer County fire protection, Placer County law enforcement, Placer County parks and other matters as specified by the Board of Supervisors. MAC meetings also serve as a means of informing the public about additional options for providing input on specific projects and community issues, including submitting questions, concerns or suggestions to the Board of Supervisors via written correspondence, attending a public hearing before the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission or other county decision-making body, or attending other public/community meetings.
