There's a new path to affordable homeownership

Placer workers struggling to afford a home will soon have a new option to make their housing dreams come true. Through our new Workforce Housing Preservation Program (planned for launch this spring) we’ll pay homeowners to deed restrict their properties so that only local workers can purchase or rent them. Placer prioritizes green public transit

Placer is taking one step closer to adopting 100% zero emission public transit. This week we entered into an agreement allowing a zero emission bus feasibility and transition study to begin. Learn more


Receive a financial incentive for your wood burning stove

Placer County residents may be eligible for a partial financial incentive from the Placer Air Pollution Control District if they replace an old non-EPA certified wood stove with a new cleaner heating device. Pre-approval is required prior to removing the old wood stove. The program is administered in partnership with El Dorado Air Quality Management District. Learn more


Mandatory trash exemptions are now due in eastern Placer

Eligibility requirements have recently changed for an exemption from mandatory trash service in eastern Placer County. If you do not have trash service, it will start automatically if an exemption form is not submitted by March 15. The ordinance amendment approved in January still allows exemptions from mandatory trash service if the home or business is unoccupied for an entire quarter. Learn more

County jobs website is updated regularly

Check out Placer County's employment website for a list of open positions, including internships. Job seekers can apply for positions and sign up for job alerts to be notified of openings. Those without internet access can use a computer kiosk in the Human Resources Department's lobby, at 145 Fulweiler Ave., in Auburn.
