District 1 COVID-19 Update for Dec. 4
Here is my bi-weekly COVID-19 statistics, shared every Tuesday and Friday. This data covers the entirety of Placer County and District 1 (Entirety of 95747, Part of 95678 and 95626)
The new stay-at-home order is applied regionally and Placer falls within the Greater Sacramento region. ICU capacity remaining in each region is posted to the state on this website, and was 22.2% for the Greater Sacramento region as of Dec. 3, not meeting the 15% threshold for the Regional Stay Home Order. I wanted to introduce you to Health Net's digital tool (in partnership with Aunt Bertha) that connects Californians with information on local services like food, shelter, job training, legal assistance, and more.
Placer County has invested over $9 million this year to help our small businesses and nonprofits impacted by COVID-19. We have an additional $5 million available to fund business anchors and our critical nonprofit safety net programs that provide mental health services, food insecurity aid and housing assistance. Are you 55 years or older, and feel like you could use someone to talk to who really understands what you are going through? Senior Peer Counseling is a free, voluntary, peer support program for Placer County residents aged 55 years or older, who are dealing with age-related adjustment issues.
