Morton Road in Alta reopens with new bridge

Placer County was pleased to join neighborhood residents and an amazing group from the Sons of Norway to celebrate the opening of the new Morton Road bridge in Alta Wednesday. In January torrential rain caused 40 feet of rock and soil between the Canyon Creek culvert and Morton Road to be swept away. With the bridge repair on the fast-track, we met our goal of building the new bridge by the end of June, just three months after construction began. Learn more


Portion of PFE Road closed for widening through July 25

As part of the Riolo Vineyards Mariposa project, PFE Road west of Roseville will be closed between Watt Avenue and Walerga Road with a scheduled reopening of July 25. The Mariposa project is part of the Riolo Vineyards Specific Plan, a planned 525-acre residential community with open-space, recreational and commercial components. The development would include a total of 933 homes. Read more


County evolves with growing food truck industry

The mobile food truck industry has exploded over the past few years, and Placer County is no exception. As a result, the county is adapting its regulatory practices to make it easier for truck owners to operate, while ensuring that their food products are safely prepared for public consumption. Update from Placer County Youth Commission, housing services on the agenda for July 11 Placer supervisors meeting

At their meeting July 11 in Auburn, the Placer County Supervisors will receive the Placer County Youth Commission's annual report and consider approval of several contracts for housing coordination services to help those struggling to find affordable housing. Agenda

Check out Placer County's employment website for a list of open positions, including internships. Job seekers can apply for positions and submit interest cards to be notified of openings.
