Palo Alto is developing a 2020 Sustainability and Climate Action Plan (S/CAP) to help the City meet its sustainability goals, including its goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2030. Based on community input already received, City Staff have drafted a 2020 Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Potential Areas and Priorities document to summarize the vision for the 2020 S/CAP.
In addition, City Staff reviewed the Goals and Actions in the 2016 S/CAP Framework, the 2018-2020 Sustainability Implementation Plan, the 2030 Comprehensive Plan, the Urban Sustainability Directors Network GHG Reduction High Impact Practices, and the Carbon Neutral Cities Alliance Game Changers lists to create a 2020 Sustainability and Climate Action Plan Potential Goals and Key Actions draft. The 2020 S/CAP Potential Goals and Key Actions draft is meant to be a starting point for discussion and community input will be incorporated. We are looking for input on both the potential Goals and Key Actions as well as input on what other Goals and Key Actions need to be added.
We hope you can join us at the 2020 S/CAP Update Community Engagement Workshop on March 31 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Mitchell Park Community Center.
There will be a very short staff presentation, followed by interactive activities where community feedback is encouraged.
Register here.
If you are unable to join, but would like to share your input, please send all feedback on the potential Goals and Key Actions as well as input on what other Goals and Key Actions need to be added to sustainability@cityofpaloalto.org.
