Now is the Time to Go Solar or Drive Emissions Free!

For the fifth year in a row, Palo Alto is participating in Bay Area SunShares, a limited time, group-buy program for solar and zero emissions vehicles. SunShares is open to anyone in the nine Bay Area counties. The program offers discounts on rooftop solar and zero emissions vehicles by:

  • Pooling the buying power of homeowners and vehicle buyers
  • Providing vetted contractors 

The 2019 SunShares program officially begins today, August 1, and will continue through November 15.

Special Nissan Leaf Rebates 

In addition to SunShares, Palo Alto Utilities customers are eligible for rebates on a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. Your community-owned electric utility has partnered with the American Public Power Association (APPA) and Nissan to offer a limited time rebate on the 2019 Nissan Leaf Standard and 2019 Nissan Leaf ePlus. 

Act now! Rebates expire September 30, 2019.

Public power customers and employees are eligible for the rebate. Utilities, joint action agencies and state/regional associations may use the rebate for fleet vehicles.

Heat Pump Water Heater Rebates

Electric heat pump water heaters are greener, safer, and more efficient than natural gas powered water heaters. The City of Palo Alto Utilities (CPAU) is currently offering a rebate of up to $1500 to residents who install a high efficiency, electric heat pump water heater. CPAU also offers up to $500 for residents upgrading from an electric resistance water heater to a heat pump water heater, which is three to five times more efficient.

Refrigerator Recycling Rebates

Electric Induction Cooktop Loaner Program 

Go electric with an electric induction cooktop! Not sure about it? Try one out for free with a new loaner program offered by CPAU and Acterra. Reserve your induction cooktop loaner by emailing Acterra or completing a registration form online.
