For the fifth year in a row, Palo Alto is participating in Bay Area SunShares, a limited time, group-buy program for solar and zero emissions vehicles. SunShares is open to anyone in the nine Bay Area counties. The program offers discounts on rooftop solar and zero emissions vehicles by:
- Pooling the buying power of homeowners and vehicle buyers
- Providing vetted contractors
The 2019 SunShares program officially begins today, August 1, and will continue through November 15.

In addition to SunShares, Palo Alto Utilities customers are eligible for rebates on a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. Your community-owned electric utility has partnered with the American Public Power Association (APPA) and Nissan to offer a limited time rebate on the 2019 Nissan Leaf Standard and 2019 Nissan Leaf ePlus.
Public power customers and employees are eligible for the rebate. Utilities, joint action agencies and state/regional associations may use the rebate for fleet vehicles.
