The City of Palo Alto launches a new Inspection Request app to expedite how contractors and permit holders schedule inspections

To improve and expedite how contractors and permit holder request inspections, Palo Alto’s Development Services department has launched “Palo Alto Inspection Request” mobile application. The app is currently available for download on Apple App and Google Play Stores.

The Inspection Request app allows users to view permits by address and schedule one or more different types of inspections depending on the permit.  One can also request and view available times and dates for their inspections.  Contractors can log in using their license number and view all their permits for multiple projects in one convenient list.  The app also allows users to keep track of their scheduled inspections, set alerts on their mobile devices for the inspection time, and share the information with others such as site supervisor.

The City of Palo Alto Development Services acknowledges that everyone related to the construction industry has a busy schedule and the Palo Alto Inspection Request App is a quick and easy way to schedule construction inspections on one’s smart phone without having to go online or wait on hold in the phone queue.  In many cases, inspections can be scheduled for the next day if there is availability.

Silicon Valley Builder representatives reviewed the app and said “It is nice to see Palo Alto Development Services leverage the latest technology.  It will definitely improve the productivity for both the contractors and the inspectors”

Peter Pirnejad, Director of Development Services added “Development Services is committed to delivering a transparent, predictable and efficient development review process to our customers. This app is one way of honoring that pledge while streamlining our operations.”

Please download the App which is available on Apple App and and GooglePlay Stores, and send us your feedback.  If you have any questions or encounter difficulties utilizing the App call Development Services at 650-329-2496.
