April 2026
Happy Earth Month! Big things are happening at Ava this April: SmartHome Battery is open for enrollment, we're heading out to Earth Day events across our service area, and we're gearing up to welcome customers in unincorporated San Joaquin County next month.

SmartHome Battery is a solar and storage incentive program for residential customers. There are two types of incentives available:
- An installation rebate for customers looking to install a new solar and battery system or add a battery to their existing solar setup
- Ongoing participation payments for sharing some of your stored energy with Ava’s virtual power plant (VPP)
Whether you already have a home battery or are thinking about installing one, SmartHome Battery can help. This program makes it more affordable to install a home solar and battery system, reduce your electricity bill, and build a more resilient home—all while supporting a more stable grid powered by local, clean energy.
Thinking about getting solar but not sure where to start? Here are a few resources to help you on the journey:

Reminder: Ava never goes door-to-door
Ava never goes door-to-door, and we don’t sell solar or batteries. We’ve heard there are some aggressive scammers out there misrepresenting themselves as being from Ava. Here’s some information about how to spot an energy scam and how to protect yourself:

Happy Earth Month!
Here's where you can celebrate with Ava this April:
April 18: Fremont Earth Day April 19: Stockton Earth Day April 25: 4th Annual Home Electrification Fair (Berkeley) April 25: Tracy Earth Day April 25: Second Chances Month event hosted by Friends Outside (Stockton) April 26: San Joaquin Asparagus Festival
Ava is excited to begin service to eligible residents, businesses, municipal, and agricultural customers in unincorporated San Joaquin County in May 2026!
Ava already serves Tracy, Stockton, Lathrop, and most of Alameda County, and is proud to bring the benefits of community energy to the unincorporated areas of San Joaquin County. The County’s default plan is Bright Choice, which means customers will be automatically enrolled in this lower cost plan unless they choose a different option.
