November 2025
As we approach the end of another year, we're grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and work alongside you to build a cleaner energy future. This month brings exciting milestones—from our new EV charging station now open in downtown Oakland to thousands of dollars saved on new e-bikes.
As we head into the final weeks of 2025, we're also looking for community input on next year's rates.

Last month, hundreds of neighbors tried e-bikes for the first time at our E-Bike Test & Ride Event at Oakland Coliseum BART, co-hosted with Bike East Bay. We met lots of community members who had already received rebates through Ava Bike Electric and were test-riding their favorite models before making a purchase. Thank you to the local bike shops, staff, and volunteers who helped make this event possible!
Since launching Ava Bike Electric in July, over 1,800 residents have brought home new e-bikes with instant rebates of $400 to $1,500.

Today is an Ava Bike Electric drawing day!
We're disbursing 1,803 rebates today, November 25. Check your email to see if you were selected—and if not, it's not too late to apply for next month! Random drawings happen on the fourth Tuesday of every month.

Our first public EV fast charging station is live!
With 31 fast charging connectors, this is the largest non-Tesla fast charging station in Northern California, capable of charging all electric vehicles on the market today.
Located in vibrant downtown Oakland, Ava Charge sits near workplaces, housing, and community amenities—providing convenient charging access for workers, residents, and visitors alike. The station is open 24 hours, and offers waived parking fees while charging. Find Ava Charge fast charging stations on floors 1, 2, and 3 at the Oakland City Center West Garage (1231 Jefferson St).

Building a network for equitable EV access
The City Center West Garage station is the first in a network of Ava Charge fast charging stations planned throughout our service area. Future stations will be located near public garages, parking lots, and multi-family housing to help break down barriers to EV adoption—particularly for renters and residents who don't have home charging options.
