In August, Fremont is joining eight other Ava communities that have chosen to make renewable energy their default electricity service plan.
Fremont's City Council unanimously voted to change its default electricity service plan from Bright Choice to Renewable 100, supporting the city’s Climate Action Plan goal to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable 100 service comes from 100% clean sources, like wind and solar, and is priced at ¼ of a cent more per kWh than PG&E rates.
Fremont residential customers currently on Ava’s Bright Choice service will automatically switch to Renewable 100 in August unless they choose to stay on Bright Choice or return to PG&E service. Commercial accounts in Fremont will transition in August 2026.
Fremont customers can learn more about the transition and their options at AvaEnergy.org/fremont.
All Ava customers can choose between Bright Choice service, priced 5% below PG&E rates, and Renewable 100. Change your plan >
