Stockton and Lathrop officially join Ava service, a new cycle of community sponsorship recipients and applications, opportunities to meet us at an event in the community, and open positions at Ava.

On April 1, the cities of Stockton and Lathrop will officially join Ava service.
This has been a long time coming: the Stockton City Council voted to join Ava (then EBCE) in 2022, with Lathrop’s City Council following suit and voting in 2023 to join our Joint Powers Authority.
Residents and businesses in Stockton and Lathrop began receiving enrollment notices in February, and will continue to receive notices about the choice to be on our service through May. And beginning in May, Ava electricity generation charges will appear on PG&E bills, in place of PG&E generation charges. Ava has been preparing to serve Stockton and Lathrop by hosting webinars to educate future customers, learning about energy use in the territory, sponsoring events, and engaging with the community.

Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally used an Ava Community Sponsorship to organize community cleanups throughout San Leandro. They removed over 300 pounds of trash from this coastal cleanup.
Three times per year, Ava awards community sponsorships to local organizations as part of our reinvestment into the community.

Applications for the next sponsorship cycle are currently open! Funding areas include (but are not necessarily limited to) sports, art, music, and STEM, and project results must directly benefit communities in the Ava service territory. Learn more about the community sponsorships and apply for the next round (due Monday, March 31).
