February 2025
This month Ava welcomes additional applications to our Health-e Communities pilot program, the cities of Stockton and Lathrop to our service area after a celebratory press conference in Stockton, newly appointed Directors and Alternates to our Board, and another year of partnership with the Oakland Roots and Soul.

In November 2024, Ava launched Health-e Communities, an innovative program partnering with Berkeley Air Monitoring Group and Franklin Energy, to offer qualified low-income customers the opportunity to replace their existing gas stove with a free electric induction stove.
The pilot program is studying the linkage between electrification and indoor air quality. Indoor air quality is monitored before and after the stove is replaced, and the customer receives a customized report on their air quality at the end of the pilot period.
The Health-e Communities pilot program is open to low-income Ava customers enrolled in the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or the Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) programs or who live in an affordable housing unit. Learn more about the program.

Thank you to all our speakers for braving the cold to share your communities’ stories. In the words of Ava CEO Howard Chang, “After all this time, it’s gratifying to know that in just a few short months, we will start serving the people of Stockton and Lathrop. We look forward to what’s next, together.” Read the full press release. Ava is also hosting webinars for new community members throughout the month of March.
