There’s exciting news for California homeowners who want to save money on energy bills and make their homes more comfortable and energy efficient.
Through the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEEHRA) income-qualified, single-family homeowners may receive rebates of up to $8,000 to reduce the cost of purchasing and installing a new, energy-efficient home heating and cooling heat pump.
Rebate details can be found on TECH Clean CA's website.

California Proposition 4, a water, wildfire, and climate resilience bond measure, passed with 59.8% of the vote in last month’s general election.
The measure authorizes the state to borrow $10 billion to fund a variety of projects aimed at making California better prepared for the impacts of climate change. Ava’s Board of Directors approved a resolution supporting Proposition 4 at its September 2024 meeting.
In addition to setting aside billions for drought preparedness, flood protection, drinking water infrastructure, and forest health and wildfire prevention, the measure allocates $850 million for clean energy infrastructure projects. This includes public financing for new transmission infrastructure, hardening existing transmission lines, long-duration energy storage, and offshore wind development.
Proposition 4 also calls for $60 million in grant funding for community resilience centers, like the ones Ava is helping cities establish across its service area. At least 40% of the measure’s funds are directed toward projects that benefit disadvantaged communities and communities most affected by climate change and climate disasters.
