November 2024
Ava is hard at work as we approach the end of the year: we're replacing gas stoves with electric induction ranges, helping support an all-electric housing development in Hayward, and preparing for new electrification initiatives that will launch in 2025. Plus, we're hiring!

Ava Community Energy just launched Health-e Communities, an innovative program partnering with Berkeley Air Monitoring Group and Franklin Energy to offer qualified low-income customers the opportunity to replace their existing gas stove with a free electric induction stove.
The pilot program will study the linkage between electrification and indoor air quality. Indoor air quality will be monitored before and after the stove is replaced, and the customer will receive a customized report on their air quality at the end of the pilot period.
The Health-e Communities pilot program is open to low-income customers enrolled in the California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) or the Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) programs or who live in an affordable housing unit.

Ava staff had fun dressing up for Halloween last month! Team themes ranged from Winne-the-Pooh, to all-things-nautical, to Legos, to Wes Anderson film characters.

This year we expanded our partnership with Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley to help build Sequoia Grove, a first-of-its-kind all-electric community in Hayward.
The ten-home development will feature heat pumps for eco-friendly heating and cooling, EV-ready infrastructure, induction cooktops, solar and battery backups, and heat pump water heaters. Sequoia Grove represents a new era in sustainable homeownership that’s accessible to all.
Watch this new video about our partnership and learn more about the project on our website.
