This month we surpassed $100 million in customer savings and 1 gigawatt of contracted renewable energy projects!
Our Bright Choice electricity service is priced five percent lower than PG&E rates. Bright Choice customers accrued over $78 million in on-bill savings since 2018 compared to what they otherwise would have paid PG&E. Additionally, as a not-for-profit agency, we return excess revenue to the communities we serve, in part through several rounds of customer bill credits, totaling $22.5 million. Together these add up to over $100 million in savings and credits.
To date, we has contracted for 16 clean energy projects, including more than 1,100 megawatts of wind, solar, and geothermal energy, as well as an additional 432.5 megawatts of battery energy storage.

Every Spring and Fall residential customers (and qualifying small businesses) see a line item on their energy bill called the “California Climate Credit.”
This credit is your share of a state program that requires power plants, natural gas distributors, and other large industries that emit greenhouse gasses to buy carbon pollution permits.
The credit is delivered to you on your PG&E bill, though the money comes from the statewide cap-and-trade program. Every eligible Ava customer will receive the same amount ($55.17 in April 2024), regardless of energy usage, and the credit is the same amount, regardless of whether the customer is on Ava service or not. The credit will be applied automatically to your bill.
