We hope to see you at one of these community events
Earth Day is a day to celebrate the birth of the environmental movement. East Bay Community Energy has committed to powering our customers with 100% clean energy by 2030, well ahead of the state goal of 2045. EBCE will be celebrating Earth Day with many of our cities this year, and we are excited to share our role in making our community more energy efficient and renewable. On April 22nd, we will be with the Oakland Roots and Artthaus Studios to celebrate Earth Day and inform about clean energy initiatives. On April 23rd, we will be in Tracy and Fremont spreading awareness of EBCE and our commitment to renewable energy.

It's time to #KeepItGolden, Tracy!
In April 2022, PG&E and East Bay Community Energy (EBCE) will transition customers in Tracy to a Time-of-Use (TOU) rate plan. Time-of-use rates mean the price of energy varies based on the time of day. Peak hours vary by rate class, but are generally defined as the hours between 4–9PM. By shifting some electricity usage to non-peak hours when energy costs less (and is typically less polluting), you can lower your bill and support a healthier environment.
But customers still have options! The default plan is TOU-C, with peak hours 4 to 9 PM every day. But you can also select TOU-D (peak hours 5 to 8 PM on non-holiday weekdays) or remain on the E-1 flat rate. For more information, visit pge.com/TOUchoice or ebce.org/timeofuse.

Spring in California means mild temperatures and lots of wind and solar energy. In fact, we sometimes see peaks when nearly 100% of the state's energy is supplied by solar and wind! These figures are provided in real time by California Independent System Operator and do not include rooftop solar (not monitored by CAISO) or large hydropower (not considered renewable energy in California).

EBCE is providing $1.4M in financing and incentives to low- and moderate-income single-family homes bridging the gap for equitable access to clean energy.
EBCE has partnered with BlocPower, the Brooklyn-based climate technology company rapidly greening American cities, to elevate ratepayers’ roles in combating the climate crisis from their own homes. Following an initial pilot upgrading and electrifying 12 Oakland homes, the team will electrify 60 additional homes throughout EBCE’s service territory. EBCE is providing $1M in project financing and $400,000 in incentives to fund this first-of-its-kind project for low- to moderate-income (LMI) single-family households.
This partnership couples BlocPower’s unique, full service approach to electrifying buildings with financing from EBCE’s Local Development program to help homeowners in frontline communities access healthy and resilient home retrofits. Together, with our local community partners, we will install affordable and clean heating, cooling, and hot water systems, and electric appliances. The program will deliver weatherization and remediation and upgrade infrastructure—all to help reduce indoor air pollution, improve health outcomes, and increase home values and resiliency during extreme weather events.
