Health Fair Recap |
We held our annual Children and Family Health Fair at Magnolia High School on Saturday April 25.
750 people attended the event and received many useful resources and services, including health screenings, food, diapers, toys, and sign up for public assistance benefits with a Social Services Agency representative.
It was a fun filled event with music, a yoga class, dance and hula-hoop competition and raffle prizes.
We send a special shout out to the Orange County Social Services Agency and CalOptima Health helped organized the event with us, along with our other partners, Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAP-OC), and United Across Borders Foundation. We also thank all our attendees for joining us and taking the initiative to improve their individual and family health.

Conditions of Children Forum Recap |
I was honored to host the 4th District Conditions of Children Community Forum in La Habra's beautiful atrium city hall on April 17.
This year marks the 31st anniversary of this report, a tool that helps us better understand how our children are doing across key areas like health, education, safety, and economic well-being. This year’s forum highlighted one of the most critical issues facing families: access to safe, stable, and high-quality childcare! Childcare is not just a children’s issue; it’s a workforce issue, a community issue, and essential to the long-term strength and resilience of Orange County.
Thank you to our panel who shared innovative approaches they are using to address our county’s need for accessible, high-quality childcare! Together, with our partners at First 5 Orange County, the Health Care Agency, and the Social Services Agency we are committed to creating a county where every child has the opportunity to thrive.

SB 43 Community Forum Recap |
My office alongside the OC Health Care Agency hosted a Senate Bill (SB) 43 Community Forum at the Fullerton Community Center on April 8.
At the event, experts provided information about behavioral health, public safety, and how SB 43 impacts our communities. It was an informative night for community members to learn more about the behavioral health system in Orange County.
Thank you to all that attended and spoke at the forum. Learn more about SB 43 here.

La Habra Women's Club Dedication |
I was pleased to join the City of La Habra and its City Council for the dedication of a new home for the La Habra Women's Club. Transitioning from their former clubhouse to the new site in Las Reinas Park, this new home will allow their group to keep serving the community.
Congratulations to the City and the Women's Club on this special occasion!

I had the pleasure of meeting students from Cal State Fullerton that were participating in the Titan Takeover with the Office of Sustainability on April 10.
Our Sustainability Officer, Tara Tisopulos, hosted 6 students, showing them what a future of working in the County would look like. It was great meeting the students and hearing about their educational and career goals.

Dale Jr. High Wellspace |
I was honored to attend the grand opening of the new Lancer Lounge-Wellspace at Dale Junior High School in the Anaheim Union High School District on April 1. This space gives students a safe place to relax, recharge, and, most importantly, get the mental health support they need.
Thank you to Rady’s Children Hospital Foundation and the Orange County Department of Education for partnering with us to make this possible, and to the Anaheim Union High School District for sharing our strong belief that supporting mental health is essential for a healthy, thriving community. I am excited to see how the Lancer Lounge-Wellspace will benefit our current students and future generations!

Meet Lexi! |

Meet Lexi, a 4-year-old Pit Bull who's ready to shower her new family with lots of love. Lexi is potty trained, calm and gentle, and knows commands. Her favorite thing to do is roll over for belly rubs!
Lexi is great on walks, treat-motivated, and has been fantastic during her Dog's Day Out Pilot Project field trips. She has attended multiple off-site adoption events where she did well around other dogs, adults, and children. Those who interact with Lexi describe her as a mellow dog who's sweet and easy to handle.
If Lexi (A1926478) sounds like the dog you're looking for, foster-to-adopt or adopt her or her friends from OC Animal Care today!
