Thank you to all those who visited my office and team at the annual OC Board of Supervisors Holiday Open House.
We had tamales and agua frescas for attendees to enjoy from Tlaquepaque Restaurant. Residents, local business owners, nonprofit representatives, union leaders, elected officials, and members of our County family took the opportunity to meet with me and my Supervisor colleagues.
Happy holidays and thank you for all that attended!

CHAP Showcase |
I attended the Fall Showcase for the CSUF Community Health Ambassador Program (CHAP). The program, created and funded by my office, will design, implement, and evaluate targeted interventions to reduce health disparities and establish a sustainable model to improve community health.
The showcase offered the six student groups to present their research to faculty and stakeholders informing them of their initial research and the gaps in care. The six groups focused on three main goals: improved health indicators, improved access to care, and social determinants of health.
Congratulations to all the students on their great work. We look forward to hearing about their research as it develops and evolves.

Kid Builders |
Last week we hosted our Kid Builders event with First 5 Orange County at the OC Public Libraries- Brea Branch!
Kid Builders is an easy way to help your child grow in six areas: their mind, words, body, relationships, safety and health. The event included interactive activity stations for early childhood development including bubble chase, jumping, kick-ball, play-doh building, and tummy time.
We also provided diapers to families, in time for the holiday season. It was a great morning of play, learning, and community! Thank you to all our partners for helping kids learn, play, and grow for the future.

This Saturday my office held our annual Holiday Toy Distribution with United Across Borders, ICNA Relief, and Community Action Partnership at Loara High School in Anaheim.
At the event, attendees received food boxes, diapers, and toys for their families. Overall, we gave out 2,656 toys, 300 $25 grocery gift cards, 652 packs of diapers, and over 600 boxes of food. I want to thank all our partners for their help in making a successful event. Together, we were able to deliver some holiday cheer and give back to our community.

Meet Archibald! |

Archibald is gentle, sweet, and ready for a forever home. He arrived at OC Animal Care after being found wandering a Santa Ana neighborhood. He's friendly, easy to walk on a leash, and loves to gently take a treat from a friend's hand.
If you want to be the one to walk Archibald home, call OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848 and mention his animal ID, A1931848, to foster-to-adopt him today! Remember, adoption fees are waived for in December for all dogs 25 pounds and over.
