Trunk or Treat |
 |
I had a wonderful opportunity of attending SSA and Orangewood's Trunk or Treat event.
Trunk or Treat is a special Halloween event for foster youth and young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. County departments and community partners attended, including the CEO's office, OC Housing Authority, OC Public Works, Children & Family Services, OC Animal Care, OC Waste and Recycling and more.
My office was able to provide hygiene goods, socks, gloves, beanies, and toys to the children and transitional aged youth population. Thank you to SSA and Orangewood for hosting this great event and bringing Halloween to the kids!

Community Workshop Recap |
 |
This past Saturday, we held a Community Resource Fair and Workshop at Dale Junior High School in Anaheim to support Fourth District community residents.
We are pleased to share that we served over 150 families. Attendees were able to listen to Immigrant Defenders Law Center speak about constitutional rights and provided families with a preparedness toolkit. Attendees were also able to obtain resources, receive food and giveaways, and enter to win raffle prizes. Finally, the first 100 attendees were able to get a pair of Nike shoes.
Thank you to our partners, the Office of Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, United Across Boarders, Dale Junior High, and our local community partners for providing valuable resource information, food, Know Your Rights presentations, and more! Thank you to our attendees as well for participating!

OCTA Roadeo |
 |
I attended the annual OCTA Bus Roadeo at the Santa Ana Bus Base! This friendly competition brings together OCTA’s talented team members from Operators, Maintenance, and Administrative divisions to showcase their driving expertise, safety practices, and precision behind the wheel.
I had the unique opportunity to hop in the driver’s seat and navigate the course experiencing firsthand the incredible skill and focus it takes to safely operate a 40-foot bus through tight turns and obstacles.
Thank you to OCTA’s dedicated operators, mechanics, and staff for keeping Orange County moving safely and efficiently every day. Your hard work and professionalism make a lasting impact on our communities.

It was a great community event that fostered dialogue between community leaders on how we can better support the well-being of immigrants and refugees in the County. Thank you to everyone who came and to our OIRA office for hosting this important discussion.

Meet Theodore! |
 |
|
If you don't have a dog, we know just who to recommend! Meet Theodore, a 9-year-old Boxer with the cutest puppy-like eyes and an appetite that might make you wonder where all the food went.
Theodore has been a staff and volunteer favorite since he first arrived at the shelter. He plays fetch, likes receiving pets, and sitting for treats. Sometimes he'll forget he's a big guy and will attempt to sit on your lap, but that just means he's in snuggle mode and loves you already!
He's a sweet old soul with grandpa vibes, but he'd much rather be your lovable grandpaw! Foster-to-adopt Theodore and discover the bond you're missing out on! Call OC Animal Care at (714) 935-6848 and mention his animal ID A1919169 to get started!
