Union Pacific Park and Trail in Fullerton |
 |
|
I attended the groundbreaking of Phase 2 of the Union Pacific Park and Trail in Fullerton this month.
This project transforms the former Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way into the Union Pacific Trail and Bike Path, connecting neighborhoods and promoting sustainable, active transportation. As part of the project’s commitment to environmental sustainability, at least 176 new trees will be planted along the trail. This enhanced recreational space will provide residents with a safe and accessible area for outdoor activities, contributing to the city’s long-term vision of creating greener, more connected public spaces.
Congratulations to the City of Fullerton, the City Council, and its residents on the ground breaking of this new park. Stay tuned for updates on Phase 3 of the extension of the park and trail.

We are now accepting nominations for the Seventh Annual Fourth Annual Orange County Fourth District Kindness Awards. The Fourth District Kindness Awards will honor individuals who have displayed exceptional kindness or community service in the Fourth Supervisorial District Cities on November 13, 2025, which is observed internationally as World Kindness Day.

There will be one award recipient from each City.
Please note elected officials and organizations will not be eligible to be nominated for the Fourth District Kindness Award.
Nominations will be accepted until Friday, September 19, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Registrar of Votes: 2025 Election Administration Plan (EAP) |
 |
|
The Orange County Registrar of Voters is seeking input from the public on key areas of the EAP as it prepares to review and update the current 2021-2025 Final Election Administration Plan.
The EAP is the guiding document for how voting in elections is administered under the Voter’s Choice Act (VCA). It addresses the Registrar of Voters’ voter education and outreach program, operation of Vote Centers and Ballot Drop Boxes, provision of language and accessibility services, security measures, and contingency plans.
Members of the public interested in providing feedback on these topics have several ways to provide their input. Details about all of the following opportunities have been posted on an updated EAP webpage that was launched this week. Visit ocvote.gov/eap.
