Discover Carbon Canyon Regional Park
Saturday May 1st at 11am
Home to Orange County’s only grove of Coastal Redwoods, Carbon Canyon Regional Park is a hidden gem for our community. During this virtual tour we will investigate the redwood grove with its trees that can grow to be the tallest on the planet and live for over 2,000 years. We will also learn about all the other great recreational opportunities at this regional park including fishing in the 4-acre lake which is stocked with catfish and trout.

Comic Orange
Comic Orange 2021 is here! All month long in May, OC Public Libraries will host author talks, a comic workshop, Charlie cart demo, special storytimes, and have activity kits distributed in branches and available to download from our website.
Limited edition “Wizard Rita” library cards will be available at all branches for the duration of the month of May, while supplies last.

Orange County Poet Laureate
Aligning with National Poetry Month OC Public Libraries is pleased to announce a partnership with @LibroMobile Arts Co-Op to launch the inaugural OC Poet Laureate (OC-PL) and OC Youth Poet Laureate (OCYPL) programs in Orange County!
Aiming to reflect regional demographics, these programs are intended to inspire and promote cultural connections and community partnerships by celebrating local poets using their powerful voices to impact social change.
One OC Poet Laureate and one OC Youth Poet Laureate will be selected for the 2021-2022 program year. Inaugural applications for the OC-PL and OCYPL programs will open on April 15, 2021 and be accepted through July 15, 2021. Announcement of the 2021-2022 OC Poet Laureate Appointments will be made on August 15, 2021.
