City Council Meetings

Regularly scheduled City Council Meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 303 E. B Street. Meetings are broadcasted LIVE on OntarioTV and our local cable Channel 3.

First-time Homebuyer Program in Ontario

What is it?
The First Time Homebuyer Program can provide financial assistance* in the form of a second deferred loan to eligible applicants with down payment and closing cost support to secure financing for the purchase of a single-family home, town home or condominium within the city.

Program highlights:

• Up to $120,000 loan 30-year deferred plan
• No monthly payments required for 30 years.
• Must complete an 8-hour HUD approved homebuyer course.
• Priority will be offered to those currently residing or employed in Ontario. There will also be consideration for former residents of Ontario.
• Opportunity for equity share and loan forgiveness over the lifespan of loan.
• FTHB assistance can be stacked with Housing Rehabilitation Loan (HRL) and Exterior Beautification Grant (EBG)

Holiday Closure

All City Facilities will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 7.

In addition, refuse and recycling collection will be provided one day later than your normal pickup day for the remainder of the week. 🗑️♻️ Police and Fire services will remain available 24/7.

Animal Resources Center of the Inland Empire

Starting today, on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the Animal Resource Center of the Inland Empire (ARC), will be the new animal services agency for Ontario, Chino, Montclair, and West San Bernardino Unincorporated areas. ARC will offer sheltering, animal services, licensing, pet adoption, community education, and volunteer/foster opportunities. ARC will not have the ability to offer spay and neuter or other veterinary services to the public from its temporary location but looks forward to expanding its services in the future in their permanent facility.

The next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is Friday, August 1, 2025, through Sunday, August 3, 2025. Yard sales are permitted city-wide between the hours of 7 AM and 6 PM.

Ontario International Airport (ONT) Passenger Gains

Ontario International Airport (ONT) recorded its 51st consecutive month of year-over-year passenger gains in May, making it one of the only airports in the U.S. to do so. The airport reported 630,137 passengers during the month, 1.9% more than May 2024. Domestic passengers totaled 591,336, while the number of international travelers was 38,801, increases of 1.6% and 5.8%, respectively. ONT welcomed almost 2.7 million passengers over the first five months of the year, 0.8% more than the same period last year. Domestic passenger volume grew by 1.1% to 2.5 million.

Community Improvement: Tip of the Month

Did you know that the Ontario Municipal Code (OMC 5.22.02 (k)) and the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC 303.1, 303.2) require property owners with swimming pools to keep them “clean and sanitary, and in good repair”? Additionally, pools must be enclosed by a fence at least 48 inches high with self-closing and self-latching gate hardware.

Properly maintaining your pool is crucial for neighborhood safety and health. Neglected pools can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, increasing the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses like West Nile virus in our community.

While adult supervision of children around pools is irreplaceable, maintaining clear water and installing proper fencing and gate hardware adds vital layers of protection against drowning.

To report an unmaintained pool in your neighborhood, please contact the Community Improvement Department at (909) 395-2007. Let's work together to keep our community safe and healthy!
