City Council Meetings
Regularly scheduled City Council Meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 303 E. B Street. Meetings are broadcasted LIVE on OntarioTV and our local cable Channel 3.

Holiday Closures
All City Facilities will be closed on Monday, January 15, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, January 16.
Refuse and recycling collection will not be interrupted this week. 🗑️♻️ Police and Fire services will remain available 24/7.

Christmas Tree Collection
The City's Integrated Waste Department will collect Christmas trees Tuesday, January 2 through Friday, January 12. Natural trees are chipped, mixed with leaves, and recycled into rich compost for beneficial reuse.
Natural Trees
- Please remove all lights, ornaments, tinsel, stands, and plastic coverings from your tree before placing on the curb.
- Do not place your tree in a plastic bag.
- Place the tree next to the containers on your regular collection day.
- Please schedule a bulky item pick-up by contacting (909) 395-2050 for Christmas trees set out after January 12.
Artificial Trees
- Donate artificial trees in good condition to your local nonprofit organizations.
- If possible, recycle the base and trunk (pole) of the tree in the blue recycling bin.
- Remove all lights, ornaments, and tinsel before placing the tree on curb.
- If the lights are still intact, please remove them.
- If ornaments and tinsel are still intact, please place in the black refuse bin.
$3.6 Million EPA Grant to Ontario, Calif., to Spur Recycling, Reduce Food Waste
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a $3,571,064 grant to the City of Ontario, Calif., to help the city upgrade its recycling collection infrastructure and reduce food waste through a new digital donation tool. The award comes from EPA’s Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) Grants program.
Ontario Museum of History & Art Receives Highest National Recognition
The Ontario Museum of History & Art has achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the highest national recognition afforded the nation’s museums. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside agencies, and to the museum-going public.

FENTANYL KILLS
Opioid usage is on the rise, presenting a growing trend in San Bernardino County. The Ontario Fire Department is working with San Bernardino County Fire Chiefs and San Bernardino County Public Health to prevent fentanyl and opioid related death and injury.
Civic Center Campus Expansion
The City of Ontario began work on the Civic Center Campus Expansion last summer, a part of the broader Ontario Plan to revitalize downtown. This effort envisions a modernized Civic Center Campus that will attract more activity in the downtown and optimize available space.
Construction began last fall with the new location for Fire Station #1 on the corner of Sultana Avenue and D Street.

West Valley Connector
Preconstruction activities are underway on the West Valley Connector (WVC) project including property acquisition and demolition in anticipation for the start of construction in December 2023. The 100% zero-emission Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is the first stage of the San Bernardino County zero-emission Bus Initiative and second BRT route in San Bernardino County.
Phase I of the project is 19 miles and will upgrade a portion of existing Route 61, which runs along Holt Boulevard, adding approximately 3.5 miles as center running, dedicated bus-only lanes. There will be 21 stations in Phase I that will provide an improved transit connection to Ontario International Airport (ONT) and link ONT, two Metrolink lines (San Bernardino and Riverside) and multiple major activity centers along the route.
