Norms at Ontario Mills is Now Open 24/7

The Norms at Ontario Mills, situated at 4551 Mills Cir, welcomes hungry patrons at all hours of the day with its 24/7 operation since Thursday, June 27. The new diner has replaced the former Chevy's Mexican Restaurant that closed in 2019. Norms eagerly opened its doors and is now preparing for its official grand opening.

Norms at Ontario Mills is the chain's 22nd location and is expected to become a beloved diner for both locals and visitors alike.

Target has Arrived at the Ontario Vineyard Freeway Center

Target has now arrived at the Ontario Vineyard Freeway Center, 1670 E 4th St, occupying the 70,000 square feet once held by the former Kmart site, which closed in 2018. The official grand opening took place on July 17. The site features a modern design and offers convenient drive-thru services for curbside pick-up.

Target now joins Planet Fitness, Golden Corral, and the recently opened Habit Burger Grill at the Vineyard Freeway Center, which recently had an extensive exterior renovation with new storefront facades, increased parking, and an upgraded pylon sign.

ONT Celebrates Inaugural Flights: Volaris to San Salvador and North Pacific Airways to Las Vegas

The Ontario International Airport (ONT) celebrated two (2) inaugural flights this month. On July 1, Volaris' first flight from ONT to San Salvador (SAL) departed, expanding ONT's reach in Central America.

On July 11, Northern Pacific Airways launched its inaugural flight between Ontario and Las Vegas, Nevada. The airline will offer low-cost commercial flights to those seeking a weekend getaway, with flights scheduled to depart from ONT every Friday and westbound flights departing from Las Vegas every Sunday.

Toyota Arena's Sizzling Summer Line Up

The Toyota Arena proudly ranks among the top 10 North American venues catering to 10,001 - 15,000 capacity at the Mid-Year rankings. With a reported attendance of 307,227 visitors spread across 51 events during the second quarter of 2023.

The Arena will be hot in Q3 with a busy and exciting summer lineup of popular artists, including Dave Chappelle, Luis Miguel, Jhene Aiko, 2 Chainz, and Maluma. Additionally, several exciting events are planned, such as The Backyard Concerts by Stater Bros., the Entrepreneurship Summit, and the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks LIVE.

Cal/OSHA Reminds Employers to Protect Outdoor Workers from Heat Illness

Cal/OSHA reminds California employers in all industries to protect outdoor workers from heat illness by providing water, rest, shade, and training. Heat illness prevention is mandatory for all outdoor workers, and a written prevention plan must be available at all outdoor worksites.

For the convenience of workers, Cal/OSHA offers a Printable Pocket Guide for Workers in English/Spanish (download here). Additionally, in partnership with the Heat Illness Prevention (HIP) Network, Cal/OSHA is offering Heat Illness Prevention Training for employers with outdoor workers twice a month from July through September 2023.

California Competes Fiscal Year 2023-24 Application Notice

The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) and California Competes Grant Program (CCGP) application periods have been posted . The first application period will start on July 24, 2023. The online application can be accessed at www.calcompetes.ca.gov.

Reminder to Apply for the COVID-19 Paid Sick Leave Relief Grant

Eligible California small businesses may now apply for relief funds for costs incurred from the COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave.

Under the California Small Business and Nonprofit COVID-19 Supplemental Paid Sick Leave Relief Grant Program, eligible businesses may be awarded between $5,000–$50,000.

Funds are limited and will be awarded based on eligibility and availability.
