Historic Nativity Scenes – through New Year's Day 2023
The twelve iconic Historic Nativity Scenes will be on display through New Year's Day (2023), from C Street to F Street. Enjoy a stroll along the beautiful tree-lined Euclid Avenue to view the life-size scenes! Click here to download a self-guided tour or to learn more about the individual Nativity Scenes.
Holiday Light Parade – Saturday, December 3
Join us on Euclid Avenue for an amazing Holiday Parade full of lights! It will start at Fourth Street and end at Ontario Town Square. This event is free for all ages! The parade will head south along Euclid Avenue on the east side of the street. We hope to see you out at the event!
Parade Start: 6:30 PM Parade Finish: approximately 8:00 PM
Holiday Light Parade Street Closures Beginning at 11:00 AM Euclid Avenue will be closed from Holt Boulevard to Sixth Street. The street closures will reopen at approximately 10:00 PM.
Street Closures West of Euclid Avenue:
- Fifth Street, Palm Avenue to Euclid Avenue
- Fourth Street, Vine Street to Euclid Avenue
- I Street, Laurel Avenue to Euclid Avenue
- B Street, Vine Avenue to Euclid Avenue

- Fourth Street, Columbia Avenue to Euclid Avenue
- B Street, Cherry Avenue to Euclid Avenue
- Lemon Avenue, B Street to C Street

Tree Lighting Ceremony – Saturday, December 3
Join us at Ontario Town Square at 6:30 PM for entertainment, food and family fun while we anticipate the arrival of the Holiday Light Parade. As we wait for Santa’s big arrival at the end of the Holiday Light Parade, everyone is welcome to gather at Ontario Town Square for the official Tree Lighting Ceremony!
Tree Lighting Start: approximately 8:00 PM Tree lighting will begin immediately following the conclusion of the Holiday Light Parade.
Tree Lighting Street Closures:
- Lemon Avenue from B Street to C Street – 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Christmas on Euclid Craft Fair and Festival – Saturday, December 10
Join us for the annual Christmas on Euclid Craft Fair and Festival. Families are invited to enjoy the holiday market, craft fair, snow play, horse-drawn carriage rides, ice skating, live performances and so much more.
Christmas on Euclid Start: 10:30 AM Christmas on Euclid End: 5:00 PM
Street Closures for Christmas on Euclid:
- Euclid Avenue – North and South bound from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM from Holt Boulevard to H Street
- Lemon Avenue from Holt Boulevard to D Street – 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM
- B Street, C Street, D Street from Lemon Avenue to Euclid Avenue – 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM

Ontario 5K Reindeer Run & Rudolph’s Dash – Saturday, December 17
Runners Assemble! The City of Ontario is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Annual 5K Reindeer Run and Rudolph’s Dash. The race continues to evolve into a community and family event with over 4,000 participants and growing! Race proceeds benefit the Ontario-Montclair Promise Scholars Program, an award winning program designed to assist Ontario-Montclair youth by helping to prepare them in their journey towards a college education and the City’s Recreation Empowerment Scholarship which gives Ontario residents the opportunity to participate in Recreation & Community Services programs and classes.
The 5K Reindeer Run will begin and end on Euclid Avenue and D Street. Ontario’s historic properties and neighborhoods are a tangible symbol of our past. Runners will experience historic Euclid Avenue landmarks and pass through neighborhoods that showcase the many architectural styles of homes and businesses each representing the City’s unique history.
Race Times
- Mascot Run: 7:45 AM
- Rudolph’s Dash: 8:00 AM
- 5K Reindeer Run: 8:30 AM
- 5K Run will finish at approximately 10:30 AM
5K Street Closures Beginning at 4:00 AM, Euclid Avenue will be closed from Holt Blvd to Sixth Street. Euclid Avenue from G Street to Sixth Street will reopen at approximately 10:30 AM, after the last runner(s) pass.

- H Street to Vine Avenue
- Vine Avenue to Fourth Street
- I Street to Laurel Avenue
- Laurel Avenue to J Street
- J Street to Vine Avenue

Community Sing-A-Long – Saturday, December 17
Be a part of the annual Community Sing-A-Long at the R. Jack Mercer Bandstand starting at 6:00 PM. Join your friends, family and neighbors in traditional holiday songs. There will be no street closures for this event. For more information, visit www.ChristmasonEuclid.com.
Menorah Procession – Thursday, December 22
Join us for the annual Menorah Procession, starting at Ontario Town Square at 6:30 PM. All are welcome to join the Jewish community in showcasing the concept of instilling light in the darkness as part of the Chanukah celebration, the Jewish Festival of Lights. City Council Meetings
 Regularly scheduled City Council Meetings are held at 6:30 PM on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
Meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 303 E. B Street. Meetings are broadcasted LIVE on OntarioTV and our local cable Channel 3.

City of Ontario Holiday Closures
 City Facilities will be closed:
Monday*, December 26 in observance of Christmas December 27 - December 30 (City Hall only) Monday*, January 2, 2023 in observance of New Year's Day
City Facilities that will be closed due to the holiday observances include: City Hall, City Hall Annex, Main and Branch Libraries, Recreation & Community Services building facilities, Utility & Customer Service Center, Municipal Utilities Company, Housing, Community Improvement, Museum of History & Art, and the lobby entrances for Police and Fire.
Police and Fire services will remain available 24/7.
*Holidays that fall on a Sunday, are observed that following Monday.
Holiday Refuse and Recycling Collection Information
 In observance of Christmas on Monday*, December 26, refuse and recycling collection will be provided ONE DAY LATER than your normal pickup day.
In observance of New Year's Day on Monday*, January 2, 2023, refuse and recycling collection will be provided ONE DAY LATER than your normal pickup day for the remainder of the week.
*Holidays that fall on a Sunday, are observed that following Monday.

If you need to request a bin replacement, missed trash pick up, bulky item pick up, or empty roll off request -- you do not need to call our Utilities Customer Service Department. Simply fill out one of the online forms and we will assist you!
