Head over to the Ontario Police Station, where you can watch K-9 and forensics demonstrations, see SWAT vehicles & helicopters up close and interact with our Ontario Police Officers! Upcoming Ground Breaking Ceremonies
Join us on Thursday, October 6 at 11:45 AM to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new residential development at 221 N. Mountain Avenue.
The project will include 39 market-rate, one- and two-bedroom units of row-style townhomes with recreational space.
Join us on Friday, October 7 to celebrate the groundbreaking of The C Block project at 334 N. Euclid Avenue, adjacent to the parking structure.
Approximately 150 market-rate rental housing units will be built as part of the project and will also include 6,000 square feet of ground level retail and service commercial space.
This Development is part of the City’s revitalization efforts in Downtown Ontario.
Join us on Saturday, October 29 as we break ground on Phase 1 of the Ontario Great Park, a 3.7-mile park, encompassing nearly 400 acres!
The Great Park will be a focal point for the region including a farm hub, amphitheater, playground, orchards, and more!

City Facilities Closed on October 10
 City Facilities will be closed on Monday, October 10 in observance of the Federal Holiday. Refuse and recycling services will not be impacted.
City Facilities that will be closed include: City Hall, City Hall Annex, Main and Branch Libraries, Recreation & Community Services building facilities, Utility & Customer Service Center, Municipal Utilities Company, Housing, Community Improvement, Museum of History & Art, and the lobby entrances for Police and Fire.
Police and Fire services will remain available 24/7.
Residential Food Waste Recycling Program
 California adopted Senate Bill 1383 (SB 1383) which requires communities to reduce organic waste disposal, such as food waste, by 75% by 2025. To achieve this mandate, the City of Ontario’s Integrated Waste Department started a Food Waste Recycling Program. To help jump-start organics recycling at home, residential customers will receive a free kitchen pail for convenient food scrap collection.
Starting Monday, October 3, the Integrated Waste Department will begin delivering the food waste pails to all single family barrel customers. The estimated delivery completion will be by October 28.

Ontario Festival of the Arts – October 15
 The City of Ontario’s Community Life & Culture Agency, the Ontario Museum of History & Art and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art are excited to announce the Fourth Annual Ontario Festival of the Arts to be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 10 AM – 5 PM.
The Festival exemplifies the City’s commitment to make Ontario the destination for arts and culture in Southern California.

Earthquakes can happen anywhere you work, live, or travel, which is why everyone, everywhere should know how to protect themselves should an earthquake occur.

Get Connected! California ACP Enrollment Event – October 22
 Your family may be eligible to receive up to a $30 monthly discount on your internet bill! The City of Ontario Broadband Department and Ontario City Library Services will be hosting an Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) event on Saturday, October 22 to assist eligible families with program enrollment.
Families of pre-kindergarten to adult students are encouraged to come sign up. If you’re enrolled in a program like Medi-Cal, CalFresh, Lifeline, WIC, or SSI, or if your household income is less than $53,000 (family of 4), then you qualify for ACP!
The City of Ontario has built one of California's first municipal broadband fiber optic networks delivering gigabit Internet service to our community through the development of our OntarioNet network. We’re providing the infrastructure to support alternative fiber internet service for many of our communities. To continue leading the City with transformative infrastructure and services, OntarioNet is pursuing expansion opportunities with a broadband fiber and wireless plan to cover the entire City with affordable, fast and high-capacity Internet service.
Join us Saturday, October 22 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Ovitt Family Community Library (215 E. C Street) to enroll in ACP and learn more about OntarioNet. There will also be opportunities to win free prizes throughout the day! Be sure to bring the following so you can enroll on-site:

Yard Sale Weekend – November 4, 5, & 6
 The next citywide yard sale event is Friday, November 4 through Sunday, November 6. Yard sales will only be permitted one-weekend of each quarter during the year. Yard sales are not allowed at any other time of the year. Yard sale permits are NOT required for these events!

Register Today for the Ontario 5K Reindeer Run and Rudolph's Dash!
 The City of Ontario is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Annual 5K Reindeer Run and Rudolph’s Dash that will be held on Saturday, December 17. The 5K Reindeer Run will begin and end in downtown Ontario! The family-friendly Rudolph’s Dash will begin at the Start/Finish line of the 5K Reindeer Run and end in the Rudolph’s Roundup children’s area. Kids can run or walk this shorter course, or families may participate together. Rudolph’s Dash is geared for younger kids, moms or dads with their strollers, or anyone that wants to join the race on a smaller scale!
After the race, spend time with us in our Rudolph’s Roundup area where you can visit local businesses and race sponsors or have the kids participate in exercise activities and craft booths. There will be plenty of activities for the whole family!
