Spring invariably invites images of natural beauty and encourages the need for us all to do our part in keeping Ontario clean. Many of us break into the annual spring cleaning, trying to rid ourselves of those things collected and saved - for no other reason than to collect dust. This past year we had several neighborhood clean ups. But you don’t have to wait for a coordinated event. Go to our Integrated Waste page to learn how the city can help you dispose of waste or those bulky unwanted items.
You can also report maintenance and service issues beyond your control that you may encounter in your neighborhood or driving down the street. Use the myOntario app to be an extra set of eyes for our staff to help improve the service to our community quickly and efficiently. Easily take a photo of the issue, fill out a quick form, and hit submit. We will then automatically route your request to the appropriate department for resolution. The easy to use app, will allow you to easily search for your favorite city park or facilities, find your local library, explore upcoming events, and stay current with news and alerts.
In Ontario, despite the ample open space in our parks with blooming views, springtime images are also dominated by the steel and concrete of our robust infrastructure replacement program. There is a great deal of debate centered around America’s imperiled public infrastructure – pot-holed roads, failing bridges, cracked sidewalks and bad water. Conversely, your Ontario City Council has combined two significant policy priorities – invest in the city’s infrastructure and operate in a businesslike manner – to create the framework for a strategic investment worth well over $15 million. From new water mains delivering reliable and safe water, to major street resurfacing and storm drain installations, the Ontario Municipal Utilities Company and Public Works are hard at work ensuring that the resources invested today safeguard both the future of the City’s treasury as well as the quality of life for our residents and businesses.
Beginning April 2020 and ending a few months later, July 2020, spring pavement projects will begin on the following streets.
- Parco Avenue between Riverside Drive and SR-60
- Turner Avenue between Philadelphia Street and Mission Boulevard
- Philadelphia Street between Archibald Avenue and Haven Avenue
- Walnut Street between Del Norte Avenue and Parco Avenue
If you have a question or would like more information on a number of other infrastructure improvements related to Capital Improvement Projects and Traffic & Transportation, please reach out to our staff at 909-395-2025 or go to www.OntarioCA.gov/TrafficEngineering.
So, let us once again enjoy the spring season – also know as rejuvenation, renewal and regrowth – let us work together to maintain and improve the beauty of Ontario.
