Community Celebrates Opening of BART Extension to Antioch

MTC
Elected officials and BART representatives joined hundreds of community members for a ceremony to mark the start of service for the 10-mile rail extension to Antioch. The clean, modern and fast service—which relies on Diesel Multiple Units, or DMU, train cars—will carry as many people as an additional lane of Highway 4. After the ceremony, guests were treated to free rides on the new line. More

In addition, planners took the issues to the people with a series of pop-up meetings across the nine counties this spring.
