The View Teen Center will be closed on Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day. The center will also be closed on Saturday, Sept. 20 as all staff are required for the annual Teen Wellness Retreat event.
Catch The View Teen Center staff at your school! Staff and Teen Ambassadors will be onsite the following days during lunchtime to promote upcoming events and hand out goodies! Stop by and say hi.

Host your next event or club meeting at The View Teen Center! The View Teen Center has flexible rooms exclusively for teen organizations and school clubs in grades 6-12. Whether it's a creative workshop, a club meeting, or a special event, we have everything you need to make it a success—from tables and chairs to tech and art supplies.

 Ready to earn your way to an exclusive adventure? We're looking for our Most Valuable Participants this fall, and it's easier than you think to be one of them.
From September 1 to November 29, we're tracking your visits and participation. The more you engage, the more points you'll earn toward a special, invite-only trip on December 22! We're only taking the top 20 teens, so every point counts.
How to Earn Points⬇️ 1 point: Visit the Teen Center (minimum 30-minute visit). 5 points: Attend a "fun" program (like AfterHours). 10 points: Attend an "educational" program (like Adulting 101 or a College Tour).
The best part? You don't have to do anything but have fun—our staff will automatically track your points! Want to see where you stand? We'll post a points list at the front desk at the beginning of each month so you can keep an eye on your ranking.

Express yourself from head to toe (literally!) at our Custom Hat Workshop. Whether you're into bold statements, subtle designs, or just want to show off your favorite things, we've got you covered. Personalize your hat with your own flair using our easy-to-use Cricut machines for iron-on designs, or get creative with a selection of cool patches. You can pick from our awesome pre-made designs, or if you've got a vision, send us your design ahead of time, and we'll have it ready for you to create a one-of-a-kind hat!

 Adulting 101: Sustainability
Thursday, Sept. 11 4-5:30 p.m. The View Teen Center
Curious about how you can make a real difference for your home, your community, and the planet? Join us for Adulting 101: Sustainability! This interactive workshop will dive into practical ways to live more sustainably, focusing on how you can impact your home and community.
We'll explore what the city is doing to promote sustainability and discuss the benefits of switching from gas to electric appliances and driving electric vehicles. Get hands-on with a popcorn-making activity using induction stoves and discover the science behind electric water heaters with fun, color-changing putty.

 Stop Motion Animation
Tuesdays Sept. 16 - Oct. 7 (4 sessions) 4:30-6 p.m. The View Teen Center
In this course, teens will learn all about stop motion animation! They will learn different methods of planning and executing their films and have the opportunity to share their masterpieces with their peers. This course scaffolds learning so that teens master basic concepts before moving on to diverse techniques to make their films as unique as they are!
Teens will also use different materials to create their masterpieces, letting their creativity flourish! The course is designed to be open-ended while teaching concrete techniques, encouraging participants to problem-solve, find their director's voice, and showcase their passions.

Get ready for a night of epic fun and friendly competition at the ultimate Board Game Cafe! We're transforming our space into a gamer's paradise, where you can unwind, strategize, and bond with staff and friends over a wide variety of amazing games.
And what's a game night without snacks? We've got you covered with a delicious popcorn bar loaded with all your favorite toppings. You can build your perfect snack as you conquer new worlds, outsmart your opponents, or simply enjoy the good company. Come hungry for both games and popcorn!

Explore Your Future with Free College Tours! Are you a Mountain View or Los Altos student in 10th - 12th grade starting to think about college? Join us on a trip to a local college campus and get a firsthand look at what college life is all about.
You'll have the chance to:

The View Teen Center partners with EduEquity, a volunteer-led non-profit organization that provides FREE tutoring opportunities for middle school students.
The following subjects are available for tutoring:
- Mathematics (Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus)
- English (Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading, Analyzing literature)
- Science (Middle-school science, Biology, Chemistry)

The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a dynamic group of 25 teens working alongside city officials and staff to bring youth perspectives to the forefront of decision-making. From organizing events to addressing community needs, YAC members play a crucial role in making Mountain View an even better place for teens. |

Programs Beyond the Teen Center |

This fun and engaging workshop introduces Model UN to students in grades 6-9. We will cover all the Model UN basics and build critical life skills, including public speaking, research, paper writing, and creative problem-solving. This is an interactive chance for students to learn more about global affairs, collaborate to create solutions on key issues, and practice public speaking in a learning environment.

Join us for an evening filled with Halloween thrills and chills. Don't worry about bringing anything – we've got all the tools you'll need. And the best part? We'll be serving up delicious Halloween treats and warm, comforting hot cider to keep your spirits high.
