On Saturday, Aug. 9, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., fire units from across Santa Clara County will provide mutual-aid assistance to the City of Mountain View while the City of Mountain View Fire Department (MVFD) attends a private memorial service for Fire Engineer Paramedic Gabriel Shamiya.
Fire apparatus from Cal Fire - City of Morgan Hill, Santa Clara City, City of San Jose, Milpitas, and Gilroy will be positioned at all five MVFD fire stations during the memorial service. One MVFD Deputy Chief of Operations and one Battalion Chief will remain in Mountain View to oversee the City’s Fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Office of Emergency Services, resources during this time. Every MVFD fire station will be fully staffed and operational during this mutual-aid event.
