Mountain View City Council Considers
FY 2025-26 Budget
|
|
On Tuesday, June 10, the Mountain View City Council held a public hearing regarding the Fiscal Year 2025-26 Recommended Budget.
The City's budget is structurally balanced and reflects a slightly positive, yet slowing, economic outlook stemming from uncertainty in key economic indicators and the slowing or minimal growth in the City's major revenue sources. The budget allocates resources toward long-term service delivery, Council Strategic Priority areas, continuous organizational improvement efforts, innovative programs important to our community, and building the Mountain View of tomorrow.
The City Council will consider adopting the new fiscal year budget at its Tuesday, June 24 meeting. The new budget year will begin on July 1 and run through June 30, 2026.

Mountain View Addresses Homelessness in "Pathways to Housing" Plan |
|
|
At the Tuesday, June 10 meeting, the Mountain View City Council adopted a homeless response strategy: Pathways to Housing – Homeless Response Strategy Implementation and Expenditure Plan.
The plan serves as a roadmap for addressing homelessness in Mountain View over the next seven to 10 years through actionable goals, strategies, and a plan for expenditures and implementation.
The plan:
- Promotes regional collaboration and coordination in addressing an issue that crosses city boundaries and is countywide;
- Leverages the City’s existing resources;
- Considers the severe shortage of affordable housing and a multi-pronged approach to address homelessness and housing insecurity; and
- Strives to achieve “functional zero” for all unhoused populations to prevent homelessness whenever possible.
