 Find Your Fit: Teen Career Day
Saturday, Mar. 8 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The View Teen Center
Discover your passion and future! This event, planned for teens by teens, is a fantastic opportunity to explore various career paths and connect with industry professionals. Learn about potential jobs and internships while networking with experts in the field. In addition, enjoy breakfast and snacks, a free career-themed giveaway item, and raffle prizes.
This FREE event is open to all students in grades 6th-12th. Join us and take the first step toward your dream career! This event is planned and led by the Youth Advisory Committee.

 TEEN WEEK IS MARCH 17-21, 2025!
Sponsored by the City of Mountain View, Teen Week is a city-wide celebration dedicated to recognizing, supporting, and celebrating the teens in our community. Join us for a City Council proclamation, teen-only discounts at local businesses, teen-only activities, teen-led community events, and more, all planned and led by the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)!
Events are free and open to the public - come support local talented teens!

TEEN ART SHOWCASE
Monday, March 17 5:30-7 p.m. Mountain View City Hall
Join us for a gallery reception of the Teen Art Showcase, where teen artwork from all over Mountain View will be on display. Free boba tea and mochi waffles will be served. The Teen Art Showcase will remain on display for public viewing during open City Hall hours through March 21 at 4 p.m.

CULTURAL DIVERSITY FAIR
Wednesday, March 19 5:30-7 p.m. Mountain View Community Center
Bring out the entire family to enjoy live performances, “travel the world” with educational booths, and sample international foods. This teen-led event celebrates the cultural diversity of the Mountain View community and the world by educating attendees on cultures, talents, and beliefs.

TEEN OPEN MIC NIGHT
Friday, March 21 6-7:30 p.m. Red Rock Coffee
6th – 12th graders will perform music, poetry, monologues, comedy, dance, and hidden talents. Come for the performances and cool conversations. Support local talented teens!

Learn about 20+ job and volunteer opportunities in your community, interact face-to-face with hiring managers and supervisors, and gain experience interviewing and practicing your elevator speech!

 Shoreline Cleanup & Discovery
Saturday, April 26 9:30-11:30 a.m. Shoreline Lake
Join the Youth Advisory Committee and Shoreline staff at Shoreline Lake for a morning of stewardship! You'll remove invasive weeds, explore the Bay Trail with a Park Ranger, learn about the local ecosystem, and enjoy snacks, drinks, and giveaways. Equipment and safety briefing provided.

Elevate your summer with the Teen Volunteer Summer Program, supporting the Recreation Division's Summer Camp, Swim Lesson, and Deer Hollow Farm programs. Dive into a dynamic and enjoyable volunteer experience, blending advanced training with meaningful service opportunities.

 VENTURE TO VOLUNTEER CAMP
Jul 7-11, 2025 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. The View Teen Center
$280 per teen
Looking for a fun, meaningful way to spend your summer while earning volunteer hours? This "Venture to Volunteer" camp is perfect for teens aged 14-17 who are passionate about making a difference in their community. This camp offers a hands-on opportunity to learn about and work directly with local non-profit organizations that need your help. Open to Mountain View residents only.

 College Tour: Foothill and De Anza Colleges
Saturday, Mar. 29 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The View Teen Center
College Tours are offered during the school year and are open to Mountain View and Los Altos 11th and 12th grade students. These trips give teens the opportunity to visit college campuses, speak with current faculty and/or students, and dine on site.

 Adulting 101: Car Maintenance Basics
Thursday, Feb. 6 6-7 p.m. The View Teen Center
This workshop will teach teens how to check tire pressure, monitor oil levels, and confidently change a flat tire. Teens will also learn the importance of being prepared for roadside emergencies by building the foundation for their own Emergency Car Kit. A big thank you to De Anza College Automotive Technology for leading this workshop!
Adulting 101: Career Readiness
Thursday, Mar. 6 6-7 p.m. The View Teen Center
This workshop is designed to equip teens with the essential skills needed to succeed at upcoming job fairs and career events. Learn how to craft a standout resume, master the art of interviewing, and confidently network with potential employers. Walk away feeling prepared and confident!
Adulting 101: Auto Insurance
Thursday, Apr. 17 6-7 p.m. The View Teen Center
This workshop will teach teens key aspects of auto insurance. Dive into auto insurance terms through a fun trivia session, discover what to do if you're in an accident, and learn about money-saving strategies like good student and good driver discounts. Get road-ready with essential knowledge for responsible driving! This workshop is provided by Ludwig Fawcett Insurance Brokers.

 The California Parks and Recreation Society Youth and Teens Recreation Services (YTRS) is pleased to offer scholarship awards to high school Juniors and Seniors, in an effort to provide financial assistance for those who have made positive contributions to communities and/or the Parks and Recreation profession. Scholarships of up to $500 may be granted annually to individuals.
Criteria and Requirements
- Be a current high school student of Junior or Senior standing.
- A minimum of forty (40) documented community service hours.
- Must attend a high school and/or reside within San Francisco, San Mateo, or Santa Clara County.
- Submit 2 letters of recommendation from non-family members.
