Life vs. Stuff: A Downsizing Seminar
Thursday, Oct. 3 Social Hall, 1 p.m.
Join Nelly Cotto, Regional Sales Director for WellRive, as she explores why we hold onto things, how to tackle the challenges, and offers practical downsizing tips. Nelly brings with her over two years of experience in assisting seniors with floor plans, packing, and preparing homes for sale, ensuring a smoother transition into their next stage of life.

Nutrition and Bone Health: What You Should Know
Thursday, Oct. 10 Social Hall, 1 p.m.
Join gerontologist Sally Duplantier to learn the critical role of nutrition in preventing and treating osteoporosis. Beyond calcium, discover the variety of dietary components key to good bone health. Learn how to get these nutrients from plant sources (not just dairy) and the latest scientific research about calcium supplements. Join us for a Fire Prevention Workshop hosted by Fire Inspectors with the Mountain View Fire Department! Learn essential tips on protecting your home, including kitchen fire safety, using a fire extinguisher and smoke alarms, planning your escape, holiday safety, and home safety. Take advantage of this opportunity to gain life-saving knowledge from experts in your community.

Building Your Digital Literacy

Presented by Sacred Heart students, this workshop will help equip seniors with the fundamental knowledge and skills to navigate the digital world. By the end of this course, participants will feel confident navigating computers, using the internet, sending and receiving emails, avoiding scams and creating documents with word processing tools. We’re here to help you stay connected with loved ones and stay safe online!

Halloween Guessing Jar
Stop by the Senior Center Front Desk between Oct. 1 and 30 to take a guess at how many candies are in the Halloween jar. The patron with the closest guess wins! Winner will be announced on Halloween at the beginning of the Senior Nutrition Program lunch service.

Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency's Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.
Lunch service is first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. Wednesday movies start at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B. Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

AARP Initial and Refresher Driver Safety Courses will be offered in the Fall at the Mountain View Senior Center. To take the Refresher course, you must have taken the initial AARP Smart Driver course 3 or less years ago. Cost: $20 for AARP members; $25 for non-AARP members. Please pay on first day of course by check or cash only. Check is preferred. Arriving 10 - 15 minutes prior to class start time is strongly encouraged.

SALA appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident.
