FamilySearch for Beginners
Thursday, Aug. 1 Technology Room, 1 p.m.
FamilySearch can help you connect with your family! FamilySearch is a free website you can use to create your family tree and do family history research. In this workshop, we will help you open a FamilySearch account, teach you how to enter your information into your family tree, and teach very basic research techniques.

Fall Prevention

In this presentation on fall prevention, we will cover essential home safety modifications to reduce trip hazards and ensure a safer living environment. We'll discuss the importance of regular exercise to maintain strength and balance, and how to incorporate these activities into daily routines. Additionally, we will provide guidance on proper medication management and vision care to address factors that can contribute to falls.

Valley Water: Managing Our Precious Resource

Valley Water’s mission is to provide Silicon Valley with safe, clean water for a healthy life, environment and economy. This is accomplished through ensuring a clean, reliable water supply; providing flood protection; and being stewards of the environment. This presentation will share what Valley Water does, how we affect you, and our role during the historic drought in our valley.

 Did you miss an Academy Award movie in April? Don't worry, we still have two remaining and one last Senior Center Staff's favorite this month. Showtimes are 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday Aug. 1, Aug. 8 and Aug. 15. We hope that you enjoy one of the double showings of these movies.

Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency's Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.
Lunch service is first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. Wednesday movies start at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B. Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

 The 2024 Concert on the Plaza series kicks off on Friday, June 7 and will take place each Friday through September, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Join your friends and neighbors and bring your blanket or lawn chair down to Civic Center Plaza, located at 500 Castro Street, for a variety of musical performances.

Mountain View Senior Center will again host AARP Tax-Aide post-season tax help on the second and fourth Wednesdays from May through October 2024. Appointments are set at 9 and 10 a.m.
