This month's workshops include: Financial Safety from Scams hosted by an FBI Special Agent, discover National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and all that it offers, deep insights into Sleep Apnea, and Health and Wellness that trees offer.
- The Senior Center will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business hours will resume the following day.

Senior Resource Fair Tuesday, May 7 3 - 6 p.m.
The Mountain View Senior Center will be hosting their annual Senior Resource Fair which provides our community with available resources for the aging demographic which will include over 30 local senior service providers, workshops and more. Financial Safety: FBI Insights on Common Scams
Thursday, May 2 Social Hall, 1 p.m.
Special Agent Ken Kuhns, will visit the Mountain View Senior Center for a brief discussion highlighting current financial scams targeting seniors, how to recognize warning signs, and most importantly, how to prevent becoming a victim.

NAMI Santa Clara County: Our Services
Thursday, May 9 Social Hall, 1 p.m.
Join us for a workshop hosted by National Alliance on Mental Illness, a nonprofit mental health organization and their local affiliate located in Santa Clara County (NAMI-SCC). NAMI provides a range of free services, including educational courses, support groups, and volunteer and employment opportunities for family members and individuals living with mental health conditions. Stop by and learn about how you can receive services, join NAMI-SCC, or participate in NAMIWalks.

Canopy Workshop & Guided Wellness Walk
Thursday, May 30 Social Hall, 1 p.m.
Join Canopy for a discussion on the physical, mental, and community health benefits of the Mountain View urban forest. Participants will enjoy a half-hour interactive presentation, followed by their choice of a guided wellness tour amongst the nearby trees of the Mountain View Senior Center and Rengstorff Park or a live question-and-answer session with a local certified arborist. All participants will learn about different opportunities for recreating in, advocating for, and learning about the trees around them.

Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency's Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.
No lunch will be served on Monday, May 27.
Lunch service is first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. Wednesday movies start at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B. Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

SALA appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident.

Free Grocery pick-up is the first through fourth Tuesday of each month, 8:30 - 10 a.m. Pre-registration is necessary. Please see the Front Desk for more information or visit the Free Grocery program on days/times of operation. Sponsored by the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Free blood pressure screenings from a volunteer registered nurse on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 12:30 - 1 p.m. in the Dance & Movement Room. No prior registration required.

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) appointments are available at the Senior Center the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Volunteer counselor can help you understand your specific rights and health care options.

Are you struggling to understand your iPad or iPhone? 30 minute appointments are available with a volunteer on each Wednesday of the month between 8:45 - 10:45 a.m. to answer your questions.

Mountain View Senior Center will again host AARP Tax-Aide post-season tax help on the second and fourth Wednesdays from May through October 2024. Appointments are set at 9 & 10 a.m.

A tour welcoming you to the Senior Center is scheduled the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. in the Lobby. Staff will review classes, upcoming events, social services, and more.

We are currently accepting complete puzzles to add to our inventory. Variety is the spice of life! Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Lobby between 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Bring a puzzle(s) and swap with ours at no charge. No prior registration needed.

The Bookmobile will no longer be stopping at the Senior Center. Seniors are encouraged to visit the Bookmobile when they make their stop next door at Avenidas Rose Kleiner on Wednesday, May 1 or Wednesday, May 15 between 10- 11 a.m. You may check the current schedule online here.
