Beginning this month, technicians will begin surveying the public right-of-way to collect data for the City's updated Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan.
Technicians will push high-tech devices along the City's sidewalks and crosswalks to measure the size and slope of the sidewalk, mark any potential barriers to accessibility, and collect detailed data on the location and condition of the City's pedestrian infrastructure.
The data will be used to identify and prioritize potential ADA improvements citywide. Keep an eye out for technicians wearing safety vests pushing devices resembling strollers along the sidewalks. The survey is expected to take several months to complete.
