Become a Dementia Friend

Dementia Friends is a global public awareness program that helps everyone in a community learn about dementia, how it affects people, and the simple things that we can all do to make a difference. A Dementia Friend learns about dementia and then turns that understanding into action. Join Santa Clara Public Health for a 1-hour session and become more familiar with the 10 signs of dementia and the simple thing we all can do for a more supportive community for those living with dementia and their families. We all have a part to play in creating age- and dementia-friendly communities!

Annual Pancake Breakfast
Saturday, Feb. 10 Social Hall, 9 - 11 a.m.
Please join us for our Annual Senior Pancake Breakfast at the Mountain View Senior Center on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 9 – 11 a.m. Each ticket includes a hot breakfast of 2 pancakes, 2 breakfast sausages and 1 serving of eggs. Tickets will be sold until Feb. 2 at the Front Desk ($5 each). Tickets can be purchased, CASH ONLY, during normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Day of walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Please note that the last service will be served at 10:30 a.m., with the facility closing at 11 a.m. Please call 650-903-6330 for any questions. Event is for 55+ years of age and their guests.

Indoor Dining
Community Services Agency's Senior Nutrition Program has a full dine in meal service in the Social Hall of the Mountain View Senior Center. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. Sign in will begin at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The Social Hall will close at 1 p.m.
Lunch service is first come, first served. On occasion, not all patrons can be served.

Movies are on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m. Wednesday movies start at 5:30 p.m.
Come to one of our movie showings in Multipurpose Room B. Maximum seating for movies is 36. First come, first serve.
When available, screenings have captions for the hard-of-hearing. There is no fee to enjoy these popular movies and seating begins 30 minutes before the show.
NOTE: Please bundle up or bring a lap blanket with you to the movie. The room tends to be on the cooler side.

SALA appointments at the Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. In order to receive free legal services, patrons must be at least 60 years of age and a Santa Clara County resident.

Mountain View Senior Center will again host AARP TaxAide during tax season to help the community file their taxes before the April 15 deadline. Tax Aide-certified volunteers provide free of charge assistance and e-filing for low-to-moderate income taxpayers, especially for those over 60 years of age. Wednesday and Thursday morning in-person appointments start on Wednesday, February 7 through April 11 at The View Teen Center. Tax appointments are available on Wednesday and Thursday mornings through April 14.

Initial and Refresher Driver Safety Courses are offered periodically throughout the year at the Mountain View Senior Center. Cost: $20 for AARP members; $25 for non-AARP members. Please pay on first day of course by check or cash only. Check is preferred. Credit cards are not accepted.
