Community Celebrates 40th Anniversary of Shoreline at Mountain View |
The City of Mountain View thanks the community for coming out strong and celebrating the 40th anniversary of Shoreline at Mountain View regional park on Sunday, Oct. 15. Approximately 2,000 people attended the Celebrate Shoreline event and enjoyed carnival games, music, food, vehicle displays, a community art project and more!
This gem of a regional park would not have been possible without the Shoreline Community Park District, which was created by State legislation in 1969. Known as the Shoreline Act, this legislation envisioned a transformation of what was once a hog farm, auto wrecking yard and a landfill. State and local leaders had the foresight to know that the vision of environmental protection, housing, recreation and economic development would be realized over the course of decades. Learn more at MountainView.gov/ShorelineParkDistrict.
Just because the event is over doesn't mean the fun has to stop. Shoreline at Mountain View is home to trails, a kite lot, golf course, sailing lake and so much more. Check out all the offerings at MountainView.gov/Shoreline.
