Introduction to Meditation
Wednesdays starting November 1 3:45-4:30 p.m. The View Teen Center
Designed exclusively for teens, this class provides a safe and supportive space for you to explore the art of meditation, cultivate mindfulness, and foster inner peace. Through guided sessions, the class uses very simple relaxation, breathing, physical (poses), and meditation exercises to get into a quiet and balanced state of mind.

Have a job interview but no professional clothing? Attending a Speech and Debate tournament and need to borrow a blazer? We gotchu! Stop by The View Teen Center during open hours to checkout clothes.
Have items to donate? Donate new or gently used professional clothing and shoes to The View Teen Center during open hours, or email us to schedule a drop-off.
The Teen Community Closet is organized by the MVLA Speech & Debate Team - a huge kudos to them for this addition to our center!

Teen Lap Swim returns November 4!
Saturdays and Sundays 1-2 p.m. Eagle Pool - 600 Franklin Street
Teen Lap Swim offers water-based exercise for ages 13 to 17 years old. Parents/guardians are welcome to lap swim with their teens.

Adulting 101: Cracking the Code to College

The last few years have brought profound changes to public and private colleges alike, and we are seeing these changes upending long-standing values in the world of college admissions. Notably, the SAT is no longer required by the vast majority of the Top 100 Colleges, and the U.S. Supreme Court determined that race can no longer be used as a factor in admissions. So what are colleges looking for in successful candidates? Attend this webinar, presented by FLEX College Prep, to gain insight on the new standards for college admissions!

Makerspace Workshops
Decoupage Monday, November 6 5-7 p.m
Decoupage or is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it in combination with special paint effects, gold leaf and other decorative elements. Create your very own decoupaged photo frame and/or set of coasters!
Tiny Crafts Tuesday, November 28 4-6 p.m.
An entire afternoon of tiny craft making! Create mini perler bead earrings, mini magnetic terrariums, mini resin boba keychains, and/or mini canvas paintings.

 Barbie Night
Friday, November 3 4-6 p.m.
Hey Barbie! Join us in the TV Lounge for a showing of Barbie (PG-13). The first 25 teens to arrive will receive a Barbie box filled with heart sunglasses, Barbie stickers, and pink treats! While you’re watching the movie, enjoy popcorn and pink lemonade.

Gobble gobble, it’s turkey time! Join us for food, friends, and fun as we celebrate all that we are grateful for. Meal will be complete with meat, vegetarian options, side dishes, desserts, and warm drinks. Visit the front desk to add your food ideas to the menu!

College Tour: California State University, Monterey Bay
Saturday, November 4 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 11th and 12th grade students
Teens will visit California State University, Monterey Bay campus to learn about academic opportunities, ask faculty questions, and get a look into on-campus life. This trip includes transportation, lunch in the dining commons, and a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The tour departs from and returns to The View Teen Center.

Movie Theater Trip
Wednesday, November 22 2:30-6 p.m.*
Staff will lead teens on a walk to the ICON Showplace Movie Theatre where they'll enjoy a showing of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (PG-13). This trip includes your movie ticket, popcorn, candy, and an Icee! *Time subject to change.
