County of Marin - Supervisor Sears

Supervisor Kate Sears here with breaking weather news! Stay tuned to local weather and drive carefully, if you must.

As of now the weather forecast has not changed significantly since this morning, however additional watches and advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS).

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 7 pm tonight through Monday morning, meaning conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.  The NWS website should be monitored in case a Flash Flood Warning is issued.  Smaller creeks may approach or overtop banks, especially in Napa and Petaluma.  Storm drains may become overwhelmed and culverts may become blocked with debris.

A Wind Advisory is also in effect until 7 am Friday for coastal areas and mountains.  Sustained southerly winds up to 50 mph are possible, with gusts up to 70 mph in higher terrain.

Please stay tuned to your local and national weather forecasts and channels for further information.

Thank you.
