This email will serve as a resource to provide updates on key issues, share progress on initiatives, and highlight opportunities for civic involvement. From public safety to housing, climate resilience, and beyond, my office is dedicated to addressing the priorities and concerns of our community with integrity and purpose. I hope you will join me in these efforts.
The success of our district depends on the active participation and contributions of our residents. I encourage you to use this newsletter as a tool to stay connected and informed about decisions and developments that impact our lives. I am truly honored to serve as your new District 2 Supervisor on the Marin County Board of Supervisors. On January 14, I had the privilege of being sworn in at the Civic Center, marking the beginning of this exciting new chapter. It was a special day, shared with my colleagues District 3 Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters, who took her oath for a second term, and District 1 Supervisor Mary Sackett, who was selected as Board President. The ceremony also included a gospel ensemble and some local bagels and coffee.
This role is a continuation of my journey in public service, which began seven years ago on the San Anselmo Town Council. Representing the Ross Valley, the community I’ve proudly called home for the past decade, is an incredible responsibility and an opportunity I approach with gratitude and determination. I’d also like to acknowledge and thank Katie Rice, whose dedication and leadership over 12 years as District 2 Supervisor set a high standard for public service. A little about me: I grew up in Connecticut and earned degrees from Oberlin College and the University of Chicago Law School. My career has spanned Wall Street, several tech startups, and work with a concierge medical practice in San Francisco. Through these experiences, I’ve developed a practical, solutions-oriented approach to challenges, which I’m eager to bring to this role.
As we embark on this journey together, I look forward to tackling the issues that matter most to you—whether it’s addressing climate resilience, strengthening our local infrastructure, supporting affordable housing, or ensuring that our community continues to thrive. My door is always open, and I welcome your thoughts, ideas, and feedback as we work together to make a difference in Marin.
Thank you for placing your trust in me. I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work for the Ross Valley and Marin County.

Marin County is now accepting applications for its newly established Civilian Oversight Commission (COC), which will provide oversight for the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. This is a meaningful opportunity to help shape accountability and transparency in local law enforcement.
Community members aged 18 and older are encouraged to apply online by February 16, 2025. The application includes basic personal information and questions about your motivations, experience with diverse communities, and relevant qualifications. Applications are currently available in English, with Spanish and Vietnamese.
Approximately nine members will be appointed by the Board of Supervisors in March 2025. Candidates will be selected based on lived or professional experience in areas such as justice, law, police oversight, community organizing, or finance. The goal is to create a diverse and inclusive commission that represents the community it serves.
The COC was created in alignment with Assembly Bill 1185, which allows counties to establish civilian oversight for law enforcement. Supported by the new Office of the Inspector General, the commission will review allegations of misconduct, subpoena records, and initiate independent investigations when necessary.
Commissioners will dedicate five to 10 hours per month for meetings and community outreach and will receive a $50 stipend per meeting. For more information or to apply, please find the application here.

Do you live in unincorporated Marin and have an aging county culvert pipe on your property? There is a pilot program available to that could help with the cost of repairs.
The Marin County Board of Supervisors has approved a pilot program to help homeowners fix drainage issues on their private property if it benefits the public. The program offers financial assistance for up to 50% of repair costs, capped at $30,000 ($50,000 for condos). Projects must meet eligibility requirements, and funding is given on a first-come, first-served basis.

Exciting news for Sleepy Hollow residents! Construction has officially begun on a new cell tower designed to address long-standing service issues in the area. Once completed, this tower will significantly improve cellular coverage and connectivity, ensuring more reliable communication for everyone – especially in cases of emergency. This project is a big step forward in enhancing infrastructure to meet the community's needs. The hope is that, pending any weather events, construction and implementation will be completed by April 2025. Stay tuned for updates as the work progresses!
