The Future of Larkspur Ferry Service
This Tuesday, May 14th, the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway Transportation District (GGBHTD) will be holding a public open house to share the preliminary findings on its study regarding future ferry service from the Larkspur Ferry Terminal. The study explores the possibility of expanding the number of ferry trips offered each day, as well as building a parking garage to accommodate the anticipated increases in ferry ridership. The event will take place from 5-7pm at Drakes Landing Community Room (300 Drakes Landing Road, Greenbrae).
I encourage you to attend the Open House to learn more about the study and potential future plans for the Larkspur Ferry. Community input and participation in this discussion is crucial throughout this process. Click here for more information on the study and the May 14 Community open house, and here for a recent Marin independent Journal covering the story.

SMART is offering free fare for youth and seniors through a pilot program effective through June 30, 2025. The program aims to incentivize young people and older adults to try out the train, increase use of public transit for families, foster environmental sustainability and enhance mobility in the region. Beginning April 1, 2024, youth (ages 0-18) and older adults (ages 65+) may board any SMART train, any day of the week and ride fare free. Youth and older adults are not required to have a Clipper card or to use the SMART eTickets app. Train Conductors may ask seniors and youth ro provide proof of age (State ID, license, or Student ID).
