I wanted to share some very informative and important free events that are available for anyone in the community to attend this month. Please consider forwarding to anyone that you think might benefit from them. 

 

RENTAL ASSISTANCE EVENTS: MAY 19 AND MAY 23 

 

The Marin County Rental Assistance Program is available to low-income Marin County residents and landlords to apply to receive 80% of unpaid back rent due between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021. The online application is available now.  

 

The County wants to provide in-person assistance to residents and landlords experiencing financial hardship because of the pandemic to get help with federal rental assistanceStaff will be available to assist applicants who do not have access to a computer or smart phone or need additional help.

 

Both events will take place at the Marin County Civic Center Exhibit Hall (in the back of the Marin County Fairgrounds), 20 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael. The May 19 event will be from 4-8PM, and the May 23 event will be from 10AM to 3PM. No appointments will be necessary to receive assistance, and language translation services will be provided. Visitors only need to bring required documents. Assistance will be available for both landlords and tenants.  

 

PREPARE FOR WILDFIRE NOVATO EVENT: MAY 19, 5PM-7:30PM

 

FireSafe Marin is hosting a series of virtual community workshops to cover a variety of topics including wildfire science, defensible space, home hardening basics, community preparedness, and personal preparedness and evacuations. Please join John Dicochea, Novato Fire Protection District Battalion Chief, as he answers questions specific to Novato. These workshops will teach actionable skills that residents can use right away.

BRIDGING THE DIGITAL HEALTH DIVIDE: MAY 27, 10AM-12:30PM       

 

The Marin County Commission on Aging presents this special webinar designed to promote an understanding of Telehealth - the new normal – and what the County is doing to provide wider access throughout Marin.
