What We Need to Know to Survive a Wildfire
Please Share Widely:
Let's face it, we're all edgy and feeling unnerved by wave after wave of challenge, from the COVID-19 virus on our health, economy and education system, widespread concern about racial justice and inequities, and now dry lightening strikes, bringing epic fires statewide and locally, and unhealthy, smoky air.
What's the best way to deal with challenge and uncertainty? To be ready and to think in advance about what might happen and how to adjust your plans.
Join Todd Lando, Battalion Chief/Wildfire Hazard Mitigation Specialist at Central Marin Fire Department, on Tuesday, August 25 at 6:00 pm, for an extremely timely webinar Evacuations & Warnings: How to Survive a Wildfire. You will learn how to prepare your family and yourself, and how to survive and safely evacuate in the event of a wildfire.

Evacuations & Warnings: How To Survive a Wildfire
Tuesday, August 25 @ 6:00 pm
Join: on Facebook live stream or via ZOOM here: https://firesafemarin.zoom.us/j/87382415962
The webinar will provide a tutorial to help us get our heads around what we actually need to do in advance and when the moment for action arrives. Questions to be answered include:
• What is an evacuation warning? What is an evacuation order? What do we need to do when we receive one of these?
• How do we evacuate and where?
• What do we bring with us?
Tune in Tuesday evening and get up to the minute advice and practical training so that you're ready to go and have planned your evacuation route, as well as a Plan B escape route just in case.
NOTE: The originally scheduled webinar "Community Organizing for Fire Preparedness" has been rescheduled for next month. Stay tuned for further details.
As always, share your unique evacuation plan and photos of your family's Grab N Go stockpile with me at ksears@marincounty.org. We all need inspiration in these challenging times.
