Novato Small Business Relief Fund – Applications Open Tomorrow, May 1, 2020

I am so pleased to announce that the County of Marin will partner with the City of Novato, the Novato Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Novato Business Association, MarinLink and Bank of Marin to launch a Novato Small Business Grant Program. I will be asking our Board of Supervisors to allocate $50,000 to the fund at a Board meeting in May.

The intent of the grant program is to assist local businesses, who have been affected by COVID-19 and the shelter-in-place orders, to stay afloat and support the local economy.

Thank you to the Novato City Council for unanimously approving this effort at your meeting this week and allocating $50,000 from the City to the program. A huge shout out to many local businesses that have supported this fund already. 2K, an international videogame publisher based in Novato, is the founding sponsor for the program, investing $200,000 into the grant program!

To date, additional business community support for the grant includes: Hennessey Funds Inc., Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc., Bank of Marin, BioMarin, CCK Accountants-Consultants, West Bradley Electric, Ghirardo CPA, Heritage Bank of Commerce, Valley Oak Wealth Management, Valley Memorial Park Cemetery & Funeral Home, and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise.

The application period will open tomorrow, Friday, May 1, 2020 at 9am and close on May 10 at 5pm. Grants will be offered in amounts of up to $5,000 for businesses meeting program criteria. For more information see the Novato Small Business Relief Fund for the application, criteria guidelines and a FAQ.

In addition, a big thank you to the Novato Chamber and Downtown Novato Business Association who have offered to help interested applicants. They can be contacted directly at:
