PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Called Off
By now, you’ve heard that Marin County will not be affected by PG&E’s Public Safety Power Shutoff, originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, November 20 through Thursday morning, November 21. The best way for residents to confirm if they will or won’t be affected by a PSPS is to use the online address lookup tool at www.pge.com/pspsupdates. For more information about PG&E service, visit www.pge.com and www.pge.com/news.
Dynamic Weather Conditions: Currently and Ahead
Weather forecasts continue to be dynamic with significant variation across different areas.
High fire-risk conditions are forecast to begin early Wednesday, November 20 and continue into Thursday, November 21.
Red Flag Warning
The National Weather Service advises that offshore winds will be developing now through Thursday morning. A NWS red flag warning has been issued for North Bay mountains from Wednesday 4:00 a.m. through Thursday 7:00 a.m.
High Tides and Flooding
The table (below) lists remaining November predicted peak daily high and low tides at San Francisco Golden Gate tide gage which, at times Saturday through Thursday, will exceed 6.2-feet Mean Lower Low Water. Actual tide levels are currently running approximately 0.5-ft above predicted values. Dry conditions remain in the near-term with chance of precipitation returning around Thanksgiving.
Watch for high tides and plan your trips to avoid areas, such as Tam Junction and Manzanita, where frequent flooding occurs and may affect the operation of traffic signals. If traffic signals fail, please call the California Highway Patrol at (415) 924-1100 to report the hazard and request traffic control.
