Encourage Neighbors and Friends to Sign Up for Alerts and Take Precautions Related to Fire Preparedness and Power Shutoffs
Due to hot, dry conditions and a forecasted major wind event Saturday evening through Monday mid-day, PG&E is anticipating there will be a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) in virtually all of Marin County with loss of power for at least 24 hours. Outages may start as early as noon on Saturday (10/26) and PG&E has advised customers to prepare to be without power for several days - perhaps 5 or more. There is also a high tide around 11:30am Monday and the National Weather Service anticipates some level of storm surge in the bay.
Your safety matters most and I encourage everyone to sign up for alerts and seek the most current information from the following resources:

For those with access and functional needs, you can find additional resources on Marin County Health & Human Services’ Preparing for Extended Outages webpage or Ready.gov’s Access and Functional Needs webpage.
